Food & Drink Studio Operations Manager

This is a unique role which will oversee the delivery of all experiences in Fortnum’s Food and Drink Studio - a highly innovative and live space, home to extraordinary food and drink events that tap into the zeitgeist and allow us to collaborate with unique voices, creatives and communities from around the world.

We are looking for a Food & Drink Studio Manager to join our team, working in close collaboration with the Food & Drink Studio Producer and in partnership with key parts of the business such as Retail, Hospitality, Buying, Merchandising, HR, Marketing, PR, Employee Communications & Engagement and the Fortnum & Mason leadership team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Bring the unique qualities of the Food and Drink Studio to life by overseeing the delivery of events that establish the space as one of the most exciting, innovative and ground-breaking initiatives in the world of retail.
  • Work closely with the Food & Drink Studio Producer to design events that will deliver the intended core messaging and promise an outstanding customer experience.
  • Ensure that the look and feel of the space evolves with the seasons and shows the Studio off in its best light
  • Delegate appropriately within the team to ensure that both event planning and delivery are smooth from beginning to end, and that internal and external stakeholders are kept informed and handled with care.
  • Own, plan and execute VIP private and programme events (unless delegated elsewhere)
  • Support the Food & Drinks Studio Producer on the delivery of the commercial and experiential success of the Food & Drink Studio, both independently and as a critical component of the 3rd floor offering at Piccadilly
  • Check that End of Day reports have been completed and create End of Week reports
  • Inspire, train and develop any teams that work on any Events to ensure they host and serve our customers brilliantly

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills/ experience:

  • Excellent Microsoft office skills
  • Excellent communication skills impeccable attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for diplomatically handling staff and customers
  • Digitally savvy
  • Good business awareness for achieving successful performance
  • A flexible and hands-on approach to work.
